I like to think it’s no coincidence my son was born on his due date. And when the Franklin Planner craze began, I jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else who wanted control of their lives. I planned, tasked, arrowed forward, and controlled. Every day. I made peace (kind of) with those things outside my control, namely other people. I still struggle with that one. I’ve also wanted to control my eating habits but I’ve refused to buy-in to the mental dysfunction of dieting. It’s painful to watch someone who is on a diet. Even more painful is to see them later, once they’ve begun what seems to be the inevitable weight re-gain. All that sacrifice and self-deprivation for nothing.
Didn’t Socrates (or someone) say “all things in moderation?” I wanted the all things part. I struggled with moderation.
But now, my inner control freak is very happy. I discovered evolv™ products. Four weeks into my twelve-week challenge to take off twenty pounds and I’m already about halfway there. Just in time for summer, too! Didn’t someone say “I can have all things and moderation, too?” Or was it something about having my cake and eating it, too? In any case, both work.
If you’d like to take control of your eating, and ultimately your health, try your own e84 challenge. The goal is to reduce your bodyweight by 10% in twelve weeks. Can you commit to try something for just twelve weeks – eighty-four days? I did and it’s the best decision I’ve made for myself in a long time.

Two Questions and a Comment:
* I find it interesting that your son was born on his due date (not sure how often that happens). Did you plan your pregnancy so he would be born in a certain time period?
* Do you think that the appetite suppressant is more responsible for you being able to lose weight now or the fact that you have finally made a commitment to more structured eating habits, etc.?
* I continue to be intrigued by your ability to plan and work your way to your goals (whatever they are). I tend to be more of a willy-nilly type. : )
Thanks for your continued sharing!
Hi Beth! No, my son was completely a surprise pregnancy (although considering how it happened, it shouldn’t have been …) And my comment is just kind of tongue-in-cheek because I’ve always considered myself so organized and a planner. A lot of the pictures from when he was little had my planner in the background, back when they were so huge.
No, it’s all the appetite suppressant. The only thing I’m committed to is making sure that I have my shake in the morning and the drink in the afternoon. Otherwise, I just eat my normal way. But considering that I’ve been walking 15-20 miles a week, doing my “stair” workout M-F and my weight didn’t BUDGE, I attribute it all to the evolv. At my age (almost 49) it takes more effort to get rid of the extra weight, or at least it has for me. My son has taken off about 15 pounds now, and that makes me happier than anything else.
Always happy to hear from you – willy nilly or not 🙂 You have such a great attitude and perspective!
That is funny how your big planner was in the background of many photos. Lol.
It’s great that your son is also doing so well losing weight. He’s at that age where it’s really hard not to feel self-conscious about appearance. He sounds like a hard worker as well, working toward his Eagle Scout rank and all. 🙂
