I’ve broken all the rules, and thank goodness! I’ve kept my “thin clothes” – jeans, shorts, skirts I couldn’t wear any longer because they didn’t fit. Stacy London has strict rules against keeping anything you haven’t worn in the last year. Even worse, I’ve bought clothes I couldn’t wear, even in the dressing room, with the hope that I’d miraculously lose weight. Believe it or not, I’ve kept a pair of pajamas I received as a gift pre-Millennium (1999), lovely flannel, red-plaid PJs, with red satin piping. Eleven years ago they were uncomfortably snug, too much so to actually wear. Last night, a chilly, damp Michigan May evening, found me pulling them from the bottom of my pajama drawer and guess what? Perfect fit. Cozy, too.
It’s also jean jacket season. My favorite fitted jean jacket never made it close enough to button. I figured that was okay – I mean, who buttons a jean jacket? It’s almost more accessory than coat, so who cared about a couple inch gap, right? It buttons now.
I waited for a miracle, then I discovered evolv™ products. Every day I’m amazed to see how I look. Vanity aside, I’ll be at my proper weight by the time my eighty-four day challenge is finished, or at least very close. My overall goal is 35 pounds, and my eighty-four day goal was twenty pounds. Having reached half of that in four weeks, I won’t be surprised if I’m at my goal weight in July. Looking good on the outside and wearing clothes that fit are two psychological benefits. I’m happy about the way I look. Even more important is what is happening on the inside. My health risks improve in pretty much every category (blood pressure, cholesterol, heart failure, diabetes, cancer) when I’m at a healthy weight.
Once more, I’ll say that my e84 challenge is priceless. My resulting health and wellness will affect my life for years. I can’t put a price on that.
